Lydol (Cameroon)

Lydol, born Nwafo Dolly Sorel in 1994 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Lydol (anagram of Dolly) is a Masters student of Economic Sciences at the University of Yaoundé II. In 2010, she was the national winner in the Spoken Word category of Challenge Vacances. In 2010, she competed in the Spoken Word category and emerged as the national winner. In May 2013, she won the first edition of the ‘Ressort Jeunes Talents’ competition organised by the Francis Bebey Cultural Centre. In the same year, she was the winner of the Cameroon leg of the Spoken Word Project organised by the Goethe-Institut. 

She is working with 237 Paroles (spoken word collective) to stage a spoken word event entitled Hold up and her album, Slam-Therapy is in the pipeline.
